Preparing for Your Tax Interview

To help you prepare for your tax interview, we have prepared a series of organizers and links to useful information.

Begin by downloading and completing the Individual 1040 Organizer.

Most people will only need to complete the Individual Organizer, however if your tax situation is more complex, you may need to complete additional organizers to provide more information about your tax situation.  There is no need to complete organizers that do not apply to you.

Which Organizers Do I Need?

      • If you sold your home you may want to complete our Sale of Home Organizer.
  • If you incurred significant work or job-related expenses, you should complete our Employee Business Expense Organizer.
  • If you sold stocks or bonds you should complete our Stock Sale Organizer.
  • If you worked as an independent contractor, received Form 1099 MISC, or ran your own business as a sole-proprietor, you should complete our Self-employment Income & Expense Organizer
  • If you owned rental property, you should complete our Rental Income & Expense Organizer.
  • If you operate your business as a partnership, S-Corporation, or C-Corporation, you should complete the appropriate organizer for your business type.
